Grand Junction, CO
Custom mailboxes in Grand Junction built around your idea, like a painted wood column with big house numbers, a solar light and a river rock base.

One of a kind
A standard mailbox is a box on a post. A custom mailbox is built for your house. Instead of a lone post, you get a solid column designed around the look of your home, with a standard curbside mailbox mounted on top so your carrier can use it like any other.
The build in the photo is a good example: a column of painted gray boards framed in black, a black curbside box on top, a solar light on the side, a lit house number sign plus large metal numbers, and a frame at the base filled with river rock.
Design ideas
Every column can be different. These are a few of the details homeowners like to add:
Large numbers on the column make your address easy to read from the street, day or night.
A small solar light or a lit number sign keeps the mailbox and your address visible after dark.
A framed base filled with river rock gives the column a clean, landscaped look at ground level.
Paint and stain colors can be picked to go with your trim, your siding or your front door.
Your idea
Some homeowners know exactly what they want. Others just know the old post has to go. Either way works. Show us a photo you saved, a quick sketch or the house you want it to match, and we'll work out the size, the colors and the details with you.
When the design is set, the column is built and then installed at the curb. If you'd rather keep it simple, our mailbox installation service covers new and replacement mailboxes on a standard post.
Curb appeal
The mailbox is the first thing people see when they pull up to your house. A well-built column adds curb appeal, makes your house number easy for guests and delivery drivers to find, and stands up better than a single post that leans after a few seasons.
It's also the kind of small upgrade that neighbors notice the first time they drive by.
Questions
Yes. The column is built and set in place at the curb, so you end up with a finished mailbox ready for the carrier.
Yes. The colors, the numbers and details like lighting or a rock base are all part of the design you choose.
The Postal Service guideline puts the bottom of a curbside mailbox 41 to 45 inches above the road surface and 6 to 8 inches back from the curb. A custom column is planned around those numbers so your carrier can reach it.
