Grand Junction, CO
Custom carpentry in Grand Junction for wood projects built to fit your home, from new porch steps and small landings to repairs and one-off builds you have in mind.

Built to fit
Custom carpentry means the work is measured and built for your home instead of pulled off a store shelf. At All Integrity Steele Services that usually means outdoor wood projects: porch steps, stairs off a deck, small landings outside a back door and custom mailbox columns.
Every piece is cut to the space it goes in, so the steps sit at the right height, the landing fits the doorway, and the finished project looks like it was always part of the house.
Real work
Old steps are one of the first things to go on an older home. The wood dries out, the treads crack and the whole set starts to feel unsteady. On the porch in the photo, the old steps were replaced with new wooden steps, stained to match the porch and set to meet the flagstone walkway.
The same goes for small decks and landings beside a door. A sturdy landing makes coming and going safer and gives a sliding door or back door a proper place to step out onto.
Your idea
Yes, and that's one of our favorite parts of the job. Hunter's approach is simple: if you have an idea, he'll help bring it to life. Bring a sketch, a photo you saved or just a description, and we'll work out the size, the materials and the finish together.
Our custom mailboxes started the same way, with a homeowner who wanted something better than a plain post at the curb.
Made to last
Wood outside in the Grand Valley takes a beating from strong sun and dry air. Good carpentry plans for that: solid framing, wood that's sealed or stained once it's in place, and steps and landings that drain instead of holding water.
Once your project is built, deck staining can bring the new wood and the old wood around it to the same color.
Questions
Yes. New steps can be stained in a color chosen to go with your existing porch or deck, so the whole thing reads as one piece.
Yes. Small decks and landings, like the kind that sit outside a back door or sliding door, are a good fit for us. For repairs to an existing deck, see our deck repair page.
We do. Take a look at our custom mailboxes page to see what a custom mailbox column can look like.
